Please bear in mind that many hotels do not accept people of the same sex in the same bed, whether they are siblings, friends or a couple. In these cases, it is better to ask for a TWIN room.

Would you like to camp?

Keep in mind that during the rainy season (June to September) it’s not possible to camp in the northern area or high altitude mountains (Simien, Bale, etc) or in the western Omo Valley area. As for the rest of the country, the heavy rains during the night and the consequent mud around your tent present some difficulties.

We want to visit and / or spend the night in an humanitarian projects in Ethiopia.

We want you to meet different projects that are currently being implemented in Ethiopia. By spending the night at their facilities or eating in their restaurants, you are already contributing to their cause. Apart from making donations, it would be great if you buy what they produce (souvenirs, honey, meals, etc…)

4. Guides

Do you need an escort tour guide throughout the trip?

The cost of a Tour guide is around $70 per day to be paid among all members of the group. This daily wage covers his/her accommodation and meals as well. In addition to this, you have to pay for his/her domestic flights, if any. If you speak English you really don't need to hire a tour guide since both the drivers and the local guides at each site speak English. And if you're a group of four, you need to be aware that there is no place for a fifth person - the tour guide - in a 4x4 vehicle.
